"Mississippi Kid"

Inspired by Ronnie Van Zant, of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Friends and family have reported that Ronnie often discussed his mortality and believed he would not live to see his 30th year. Although born in Florida, he poetically referred to himself as the Mississippi Kid in the months preceding his passing. As recounted by the surviving bandmates, Ronnie seemed to know that this day was coming and was at peace. Their plane crashed in Gillsburg, Mississippi in 1977.  Ronnie was 29 years of age.
